South Jefferson Summer Youth Program (Summer Rec) will run July 8th - August 14th, Monday-Friday from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm. Summer Rec will be offering opportunities for students entering kindergarten through seventh grade (fall 2024) to participate in many fun filled activities. Students will be split into two age groups: Littles (4-7 year olds) and Bigs (8-12 year olds). Morning activities will include games, crafts, sports, toys, boondoggle, outdoor activities/hiking, beach, and sidewalk chalk. Water play will also be set up every Wednesday throughout the summer, which will include sprinklers, water balloons, sponge races, and slip ‘n slides. Afternoon activities will include movies, games, arts and crafts, outdoor and indoor sport activities. Each Friday will be 'Field Trip Friday' for a limited number of students.

Summer Rec will be hosted at the WILSON BUILDING this summer! Parent pick up/drop off will be in the back parking lot by the track. Please utilize Parent Pick Up Line 1 and Line 2. A counselor will be in the parking lot to welcome students as they exit vehicles.
We are working tirelessly to find an Aquatics Director. Without a director, we will be unable to offer the Middle School pool for open swim and swim lessons, swimming at the beach, and any field trips that involve swimming.
We will have the following pick up/drop off sites: Mannsville Elementary, Wilson Elementary, Adams Fire Hall, Rodman Fire Hall, Town of Lorraine Barn. Families that have already registered and have selected the Middle School and Minkler Rd parking lot as their pick up/drop off site will be changed to the Wilson Building. There will NOT be a bus at the Middle School or Minkler Rd for student pick up/drop off.
Field trip information will be forthcoming. We will utilize ParentSquare to sign up. The Field trip sign up will close once we have reached our maximum number of students for that trip. We will utilize the online payment system for field trip fees. Please pay AFTER your student's name has been placed in a Field Trip Friday sign up.
The deadline to order Summer Rec t-shirts or sweatshirts has passed. The order has been placed and is due to arrive the first week of Summer Rec. A very minimal amount of extra t-shirts/sweatshirts will be available.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided to Summer Rec participants on a daily basis.
